Peyton Hubbs Blog!

Hi everyone! My name is Peyton Hubbs I am a sophomore finance major from a small town in central Ohio called Milford Center. I am proud to be a member of the AC-ARF group as it is for a great cause and something that I am extremely passionate about. Almost my entire life I have had a dog by my side. When I was very young my family rescued a golden retriever from a horse farm named Ransom. Ransom was about 8 when we got her so she taught me to always be patient and a large amount of meaningful lessons when dealing with animals. Ransom passed away when I was in 1st grade and soon after my family got another golden retriever named Bella. Bella was the most loving dog I have ever met. I would consider Bella to have been one of my best friends growing up. She was always the focal point of our family and something we could bond over. I remember holding her the day we got her and I was also lucky enough to hold her during her last breaths when I was a senior in high school. Bella meant the wo...

Zooming around

Zooming Around Hi everyone! My name is Lucas Kubycheck and I am a sophomore Finance and Accounting major at the university of Tennessee Knoxville. When I first started my English this class this year, I was excited to see that I can make a real difference in the community by starting a campaign to raise money for one of the non-profits in the area. I saw that they had an option to help AC-ARF a non-profit in Anderson County that helps take care of animals. I knew this was the perfect fit for me as I grew up with dogs that I loved. I remember when I was little, I would beg for my mom to get me a dog. They are so joyful, and I felt it was so necessary to complete the family. We went around to many shelters and couldn't find the one that was the right fit to add to the family. We eventually stumbled along this one local breeder and met a little black Havanese dog. He ran around me my parents and my brother like he already knew us. That dog came home that day, and we named him Otis. ...

Jackson Quinones Blog

Hi everyone! My name is Jackson Quinones and I am from the great Knoxville, Tennessee. This year I will be a senior studying Kinesiology with hopefully going into the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at the University of Tennessee. Ever since I was a kid I have been in love with dogs. Dogs have always just been the most ideal dog for me. They are cute, funny, and are always there for you when you have had a rough day. You may be asking how I get into this group called Fur Force? Well growing up I had a friend who fostered kittens and always said he had to take care of them every weekend. Then one weekend I decided I will come with him to help take care of the kittens. Ever since then it has changed my life. The feeling of growing up with an animal and taking care of them as if they were your own child made it one of the best experiences of my life. This led me down a rabbit hole of g...

Emily Couch's Blog!

Hi everyone! My name is Emily Couch and I am one of the four members in Fur Force! I am originally from Orange County, California and I am a Marketing major with a concentration in Supply Chain Management here at the University of Tennessee! Just so you know, I am an animal LOVER, hence why I am super excited to be working with AC-ARF and helping spread awareness for their mission. This passion started when I first got my two dogs, Colonel Biscuit and Savannah - unique names huh? Well their personalities sum up the name choice for sure. These two dogs genuinely helped complete my family. Truly. Back in California, my family and I decided that we needed a new addition to our family, leading us to see Savannah at a local animal shelter and bringing her home with us that same day. Man oh man did we get a good one. She instantly filled our home with love, joy, cuddles, and laughter. It was shortly after that we decided we wanted Savannah to have a best friend, introducing…. Colonel Biscuit...

Promoting PAWsitive Change!  We are Fur Force, four University of Tennessee students who are currently running a fundraising campaign for our friends, AC-ARF! For the last couple of weeks, we have been creating a campaign website for this nonprofit with the hopes of raising awareness and monetary donations for low-income citizens and their pets in the Knoxville community. It has been such a gift being able to work hand and hand with an organization who strives and fights for a mission we care so deeply about. Each of us have such a strong tie to our own pets, sparking the interest in wanting to help AC-ARF provide these same kinds of relationships for individuals and their animals in the community.  What is AC-ARF, you may ask? The Anderson County Animal Rescue Foundation is a non-profit organization with a mission to help low-income citizens keep their beloved animals as well as provide loving, healthy, and responsible homes for them. From hosting special events throughout th...
