Promoting PAWsitive Change!

We are Fur Force, four University of Tennessee students who are currently running a fundraising campaign for our friends, AC-ARF! For the last couple of weeks, we have been creating a campaign website for this nonprofit with the hopes of raising awareness and monetary donations for low-income citizens and their pets in the Knoxville community. It has been such a gift being able to work hand and hand with an organization who strives and fights for a mission we care so deeply about. Each of us have such a strong tie to our own pets, sparking the interest in wanting to help AC-ARF provide these same kinds of relationships for individuals and their animals in the community.

What is AC-ARF, you may ask? The Anderson County Animal Rescue Foundation is a non-profit organization with a mission to help low-income citizens keep their beloved animals as well as provide loving, healthy, and responsible homes for them. From hosting special events throughout the year to consistently restocking a Pet Pantry, AC-ARF has continued to look out for its community and their beloved family pets. This organization has been able to distribute 76,563 pounds of pet food, supply 758 medical treatments, perform 554 spay and neuters, and rehome 256 pets within the Knoxville community! If needed they also provide safe homes for animals at risk and rehome them to better living and owner situations. How special is that? This organization continually pours into every aspect of owning an animal, looking out for not only the pets, but for the individuals involved and those affected by it all. Talk about a well-rounded, versatile, and adaptable organization!

So what can you do? Well you came to the right place! This is why we decided to come together as a group to help AC-ARF accomplish their mission and goals. Our blog and campaign will continue to be a resource for you all so we can all find ways to donate and help our friends and furry companions in need! We will also be adding in our own stories each week about why and how our family pets have impacted our lives. We think that sharing stories about what our furry companions have done for us can help spark the need for change and wanting to provide the same for animals in need. It is these kinds of stories that help paint a realistic picture of why we need pets and what they can truly do for us. They are more than just an extra member of the family: they can add life, joy, and even opportunity in an individual’s life. Furthermore, why not help educate the community on proper pet healthcare and responsibility? Not only do we deserve a chance for a good, healthy life, but so do our animals.

So DONATE TODAY! Remember, $1 can truly go a long way and can make a difference in both a family’s and animal’s life!
